Venturing to The Lakes is popular with locals and holiday guests alike. Hiring a boat for an hour or two is an excellent way to enjoy the stunning scenery of Lake Windermere. Full instructions are given and dogs are welcome onboard, pre-booking is essential especially in high season. If you don’t fancy skippering the boat yourself the Windermere ferry is also an excellent way to enjoy the lake.

Rydal Water Circular Loop

The Rydal Water Circular is a 4.5 km walk in the Lake District that sets out from the village of Rydal and leads you around the edge of a scenic lake. While out on the trail, you can enjoy picturesque landscapes across the water such as the peaks of Loughrigg Fell and Nab Scar. The walk is through a variety of terrain, woodland and open spaces. Ideal for most levels of walker from beginners to families.
